Real data, ranked. No fluff, no filler.

The 10 Best Electric Pressure Washers

Corded electric pressure washers for cars, decks, siding and driveways, ranked from live Amazon data.

An electric pressure washer plugs into the wall: no gas, no oil, and it starts with a button. We ranked 10 best-sellers from Westinghouse, Greenworks, Sun Joe, Kärcher, CRAFTSMAN and A-iPower on rating, review volume and features (independently rated performance, an onboard soap tank, a 25-foot or longer hose and an induction or brushless motor). Compare rated PSI and GPM, not the bigger max numbers on the box.

How we rank

Every tool gets one score from 0 to 100, weighted 45% on its star rating, 35% on how many people have reviewed it (more reviews = more confidence the rating is real), and 20% on the features that matter for the job. The list is ordered by that score. Best Overall is our pick for the best all-around, ready-to-use tool; Best Budget the best value at or under $150; and Money No Object the one to buy if price is no object.

The features score is built from certified (25%), onboard soap (25%), long hose (25%), premium motor (25%), capped at 100. The review-count score is on a log scale, so each tenfold jump in reviews adds the same amount, and 30,000 or more reviews gets full marks. Open Why this score on any tool to see its numbers.

We re-check every listing on this page on a rotation. The most recent changes:

Buyer's guide

Max PSI or rated PSI?

Max PSI is a brief peak at the nozzle; rated PSI is what the washer holds while you clean. Westinghouse and A-iPower list both; use the rated number to compare. Brands that are PWMA- or CETA-certified, or lab-tested like the Greenworks 3000, publish numbers that were checked independently.

How much PSI do I need?

1,500 to 2,000 PSI handles cars, bikes and patio furniture. 2,000 to 2,600 PSI is right for siding, fences and decks. For concrete driveways and stains, look at 3,000 PSI models like the Greenworks or Westinghouse WPX3400e.

Why does GPM matter?

GPM is how much water you move, and it decides how fast you rinse. Multiply PSI by GPM for 'cleaning units': a 2,000 PSI, 1.2 GPM washer makes 2,400; a 3,000 PSI, 2.0 GPM washer makes 6,000.

Induction, brushless or universal motor?

Most cheap electrics use a universal motor that's loud and wears out. Induction and brushless motors, like those in the Westinghouse WPX models and Greenworks 3000, run quieter and last longer.

Can I use an extension cord?

Manufacturers generally say to plug directly into a GFCI outlet and add hose length instead of cord length. A long, thin extension cord drops voltage and can overheat the motor.

Tools to avoid

Not everything in the search results deserves your money. This one would rank dead last on our scale — here's the listing to walk past, and exactly why.

Electric Pressure Washer 4500PSI 2.8 GPM with Anti-Tipping Technology
Baococo

Electric Pressure Washer 4500PSI 2.8 GPM with Anti-Tipping Technology

4.5 41 reviews   $109.99

It claims 4,500 PSI and 2.8 GPM from an electric motor on a household outlet, numbers you normally see on large gas washers.

Why we'd skip it

  • 4,500 PSI x 2.8 GPM is 12,600 'cleaning units', more than double the Greenworks 3000 PSI/2.0 GPM unit here, whose 14-amp brushless motor's figures are independently tested.
  • A standard 15-amp, 120V outlet supplies about 1,800 watts, which can't produce that much pressure and flow together. The listing gives no motor rating or amps to explain it.
  • It ships with a 20-foot power cord, shorter than the 35-foot GFCI cords on the Westinghouse, Greenworks and A-iPower washers.
