How we rank
Every tool gets one score from 0 to 100, weighted
45% on its star rating,
35% on how many people have reviewed it (more reviews = more
confidence the rating is real), and 20% on the features that
matter for the job. The list is ordered by that score. Best Overall is our pick for the
best all-around, ready-to-use tool; Best Budget the best value at or under
$70; and Money No Object the one to buy if price is no object.
The features score is built from powered (35%), bead breaker (25%), rim protection (25%), bead blaster (15%), capped at 100. The review-count score is on a log scale, so each tenfold jump in reviews adds the same amount, and 1,000 or more reviews gets full marks. Open Why this score on any tool to see its numbers.

Buyer's guide
Will a manual tire changer handle my car's wheels?
Check your rim size first. The classic manual stands here (TUFFIOM, VEVOR, Olympia) stop at 16 in., and EASYBERG and MOTOOS at 16.5 in. Most cars sold in the last decade ride on 17 in. or larger wheels, which need a changer rated to 21 in. or more, like the LCTX, the KATOOL KT-1030P, or a full shop machine.
Do I need an air compressor?
Manual stands don't. The LCTX, KATOOL KT-1030P, and both KATOOL shop machines use compressed air for the bead breaker or clamps, and the shop machines want 116 to 145 psi. A small pancake compressor won't keep up; plan on a tank of 20 gallons or more.
What is a bead blaster?
A bead blaster is a burst of air through a ring or nozzle that snaps a tire's bead onto the rim. Stiff run-flats, low-profile tires, and big off-road tires often won't seat with an ordinary air chuck. The KATOOL KT-T810 has one built in; for the others you can buy a separate bead seater tank.
Will a tire changer scratch alloy wheels?
A bare steel bar can. Look for a plastic or covered mount head and jaw covers. The KATOOL ME-T500 and KT-T810 include non-marring covers, and the Rabaconda uses a plastic mount head. With a manual stand, use rim protectors and plenty of tire lube.
Can I balance tires with a tire changer?
No. A changer only mounts and dismounts tires. You'll still need to balance the wheel afterward, either at a shop or with a wheel balancer. See our wheel balancer rankings for bubble and computerized options.

Krysolad
Krysolad Manual Tire Changer Machine, 8 to 21 in. Tire Change
1.74 reviews$159.99
It promises 8 to 21 inch wheels and quick bead breaking from a 23-pound duck-head kit, but the parts list doesn't include anything that breaks a bead. The TUFFIOM costs about $100 less and comes with a bead breaker.
Why we'd skip it
The kit is listed as a duckbill adapter, a mounting base, and conical washers. There's no bead breaker, yet the same bullet says it "separates tire bead in seconds." Breaking the bead is the hardest part of a tire change.
It claims 8 to 21 inch fitment, but a buyer reports their 8 in. golf-cart tires wouldn't work on it at all.
It's pitched as "ideal for tabletop use" and as an upgrade for professional shops: a 23 lb stand on a 10 in. base isn't stable enough for either a 21 in. wheel or daily shop work.
The title says 8 to 21 inch "tire" while the bullets say 8 to 21 inch "rims", which are very different sizes.
