Battery-powered deep-cut and compact band saws for conduit, pipe and strut, ranked from live Amazon data.
Ranked by ToolboxTop10 from Amazon data captured Oct 10, 2026. How we rank
A portable band saw cuts metal cleanly and quietly with almost no sparks, which is why electricians and plumbers carry them. We ranked 10 best-sellers from DEWALT, Milwaukee, Makita, FLEX and value brands on rating, review volume and features (a deep cut capacity, a brushless motor, variable speed and a work light).
Batteries only fit their own brand's platform, so the best tool for you is often the best
one that runs on the packs you already have. Here's our top-ranked pick on each platform on this page.
A tool-only model skips the cost of a battery and charger you don't need.
Tools sold as "compatible with" another brand's batteries aren't listed here. They're made by third parties, and the battery brand doesn't warrant them.
Where the deals are
The tools ranked here come from DEWALT, Milwaukee, Makita, ONEMANA, FLEX, Ecarke, and WORKPRO. Prices on these brands move week to
week on Amazon, and the deepest cuts usually land around Prime Day and Black Friday.
Every price button on this page opens the live listing, so you always see today's
number, not the one we captured on 2026-10-10. If your pick is over budget
right now, check back in a few days — DEWALT and Milwaukee rotate through sales and bundle
deals often.

How we rank
Every tool gets one score from 0 to 100, weighted
45% on its star rating,
35% on how many people have reviewed it (more reviews = more
confidence the rating is real), and 20% on the features that
matter for the job. The list is ordered by that score. Best Overall is our pick for the
best all-around, ready-to-use tool; Best Budget the best value at or under
$140; and Money No Object the one to buy if price is no object.
The features score is built from deep cut (30%), a brushless motor (25%), variable speed (25%), work light (20%), capped at 100. The review-count score is on a log scale, so each tenfold jump in reviews adds the same amount, and 2,000 or more reviews gets full marks. Open Why this score on any tool to see its numbers.

Buyer's guide
What's a portable band saw for?
Clean, cool, quiet cuts in metal: conduit, pipe, strut, threaded rod and angle. Cuts are square and burr-free with almost no sparks, unlike a grinder.
Deep cut or compact?
Deep-cut saws (4-3/4 to 5 inches) handle large pipe and stock but are heavy. Compact saws (2.5 to 3-3/8 inches) are light enough for one hand and overhead work.
Does blade speed matter?
Slower speeds suit hard metals like stainless; faster speeds cut mild steel and conduit quickly. Variable speed lets you match the material.
Which blade?
Pick teeth per inch for the wall thickness: about 14 TPI for thicker stock, 18 to 24 TPI for thin-wall conduit and tubing. Keep three teeth in the material.
Can it cut wood?
Yes, but these saws are designed for metal. For wood curves, use a jigsaw or a stationary band saw.

RYOBI
RYOBI ONEAND 18V Cordless 2-1/2 in. Compact Band Saw Tool ONLY P590
4.7651 reviews$169
A RYOBI band saw listing whose only description is a line about Stens lawn and landscape parts, under a garbled 'ONEAND' title.
Why we'd skip it
The single product bullet reads 'Stens replacement parts have become a favorite among lawn and landscape professionals', nothing about the saw.
The title brand reads 'RYOBI ONEAND' and the manufacturer part number (1004-431-0017) isn't a RYOBI model number, so it's unclear who is selling it.
We've seen the same Stens bullet on several RYOBI and RIDGID listings; buy RYOBI tools from a listing that describes them.
