Portable, mid-rise, 2-post, and 4-post car lifts, ranked from live Amazon data.
Ranked by ToolboxTop10 from Amazon data captured Oct 10, 2026. How we rank
A car lift replaces jack stands and lets you work under the car in comfort. Amazon sells four kinds: portable low-rise frames ($1,050 to $2,100) that lift about 27 inches and store against a wall, mid-rise scissor lifts around 39 inches, and anchored 2-post and drive-on 4-post lifts ($1,950 to $3,300) that raise a car to standing height. We ranked 10 on star rating, review volume, and features (portable, standing-height lift, published load testing, 110V power, and a 3-year warranty).
The tools ranked here come from APlusLift, VEVOR, XK, Albott, KATOOL, QuickJack, and Real Relax. Prices on these brands move week to
week on Amazon, and the deepest cuts usually land around Prime Day and Black Friday.

How we rank
Every tool gets one score from 0 to 100, weighted
45% on its star rating,
35% on how many people have reviewed it (more reviews = more
confidence the rating is real), and 20% on the features that
matter for the job. The list is ordered by that score. Best Overall is our pick for the
best all-around, ready-to-use tool; Best Budget the best value at or under
$1300; and Money No Object the one to buy if price is no object.
The features score is built from standing height (30%), portable (20%), runs 110v (20%), load tested (15%), long warranty (15%), capped at 100. The review-count score is on a log scale, so each tenfold jump in reviews adds the same amount, and 1,000 or more reviews gets full marks. Open Why this score on any tool to see its numbers.

Buyer's guide
Portable lift, mid-rise, 2-post, or 4-post?
Portable low-rise lifts (about 27 to 28 in.) need no installation and store on a wall, but you work lying on a creeper. Mid-rise scissor lifts (about 39 in.) let you sit on a stool. 2-post lifts raise the car to standing height and leave the wheels hanging for brake and suspension work, but they must be anchored in solid concrete. 4-post lifts are drive-on, double as parking storage, and don't need anchoring.
How high does my ceiling need to be?
For a portable or mid-rise lift, a normal 8 ft garage is fine. For standing-height work, add the lift's max height, the car's roof height, and a few inches of clearance. The APlusLift 4-post is 94 in. tall before it lifts anything, and overhead 2-posts need room for the top beam. Most people need 11 to 12 ft for a 2-post or 4-post.
Can my garage floor take a 2-post lift?
2-post lifts bolt into the slab, and most makers call for at least 4 in. of 3,000 psi concrete with no cracks or expansion joints under the posts. If you don't know your slab, drill a test hole first. Portable and 4-post lifts sit on the floor and don't need anchoring.
110V or 220V?
The portable lifts and the APlusLift and KATOOL 4-posts here run on 110V. Many 2-post lifts, including the XK, need a 220V circuit and a 30 A breaker, which may mean paying an electrician.
How do I get it off the truck?
Portable lifts ship by parcel or LTL to the curb. Full 2-post and 4-post lifts often weigh 1,000 to 1,800 lb crated, and several sellers here require you to unload with a forklift or tractor, or pick up at a freight terminal. APlusLift includes liftgate service on some models; check before you order.

EliteEdge
EliteEdge 7,000 lb Portable Car Lift, Scissor Lift Jack with Safety Lock, 6.26 to 27 in.
4.215 reviews$1,048
It's the cheapest two-frame portable lift here, but the listing contradicts itself on the one number that keeps a car off your chest. The Albott costs about $250 more and gives one consistent rating.
Why we'd skip it
The first bullet's heading says "5000LBS Capacity" and the same sentence says it "supports 7000 lbs capacity". On a lift you work under, a 2,000 lb disagreement isn't a typo you can shrug off.
The title gives the lift range as 6.26 to 27 in., while the bullets say the columns cover 11 to 27 in. and only the pads go down to 6.26 in.
It promises "zero wobbling for ultimate safety" with no load test, certification, or warranty term to back it up.
